Photograph of Bolton Priory Gardens Published in 1902
In 1902, Alice Morse Earle published a book entitled "Sundials and
Roses of Yesterday". In it she included a photograph of the gardens of
Bolton Priory. At the time, Frederick Allen owned the Priory.
The photograph shows a sundial that formerly stood at The Mount in
Astoria. It appears immediately below, followed by a citation to its
source.
