A PELHAM MANOR BURGLAR CAPTURED.
____
Otto
Schaeffer, alias Philip Barber, alias the “mouse” was arrested in New York
City last Friday, by central office detectives Dorand and Tinker. He was
taken before Magistrate Crane, and Judge Lyon was notified. Constable
Lyon went down and brought the man up.
To Judge Lyon
he made a complete confession and implicated a number of other well known
criminals. He confessed to the Hagan school robbery last fall, Dr.
Washburn’s burglary and the “Manor House.” Judge Lyon examined him at 11
a.m. Monday and held him for the Grand Jury.
He denies
having taken part in the Bertino hold up, but acknowledges that it was
members of his gang who did it.
